Optional Practice Rounds are April 21st & 28th. Regular season begins May 5th.
1. Pace of Play
Show up AND tee off on time. If your group tees off late it affects all those who follow.
Please be aware of your pace and keep up with the group in front of you.
Please keep ball searches to 3 minutes.
Keep pace with the group in front of you.
Play “ready golf” if you fall behind.
Be aware of the “Natural Areas” and use them accordingly. (see below)
Use the “Gimme Rule” for putts. (see below)
Maximum score is 4 above par on each hole. (see below)
2. Weather Policy
If a week is cancelled before play begins, you will be notified via email by 3:00pm and on the website using the new “Play Status” page.
If weather becomes uncertain after play has begun, this “Play Status” page will be updated on the website, so refer to this while on the course.
We do not have a severe weather notification system. If you hear any horns, that is from Interlachen and their system is very sensitive with a wide range.
Play will not be cancelled due to rain unless the course becomes unplayable.
If league is cancelled before play begins, each player will recieve clubhouse credits to be used for cart fees, proshop merchandise, and future play outside of league.
If league is cancelled during play, time will be recorded and course management will determine credits for those who weren’t able to finish.
If play is cancelled during play, ALL scores will not count for that week.
I do not make the call on weather decisions, but only relay what management decides.
3. Gimmes
Gimmes are allowed again this year.
Any putt will be deemed "good" as long as they are "Inside the Leather".
“Inside the Leather” will be defined as the length of the putter as measured up from the clubhead to the bottom edge of the grip on the other end of the shaft using a standard putter length.
Please be gentlemen when using this rule.
4. Tee Markers
Players under 65 play from the blue tees.
Players 65 and older may decide to play the combo tees.
Even if you have in the past, please let the League Director know if you want to play the combo tees this year.
5. Use of Lift, Clean, and Place
If “Lift, Clean, and Place” is needed, it will be stated on the bottom half of the scorecards.
If nothing is stated, play as it lies.
You can ask the starters the day of as well.
6. Maximum Score Per Hole
The MAXIMUM SCORE on any hole is 4 over par (gross score).
A player may pick up their ball on any hole once they are already 4 strokes over par before their handicap.
7. Natural Areas
If a ball goes into an area marked as a “Natural Area”, you must drop where it entered, no closer to the hole without penalty.
Please see the "Natural Areas Map" on the website which shows where these areas are.
The areas are determined where the grass is significantly longer than the normal rough height.
Please note the long grass adjacent to Meadowbrook Creek on Holes 5 and 7 are not Natural Areas.
8. Handicaps
Handicaps will be calculated using the golfleaguenetwork.com software.
The first 2 weeks will be used to generate a new handicap for this season.
These new handicaps will be a continuation of your handicap from last year if you're a returning member.
Team and Individual Net Leagues results and standings for the first week of the regular season will not be posted until these handicaps are set after the second week of the regular season.
9. Weekly Payouts
Top 3 finishers in each division will earn "Shop Credit" each week.
Tiebreakers to determine 1st, 2nd, and 3rd will be by using the hardest to easiest handicapped holes.
Weekly proxies will also be paid out in "Shop Credit".
10. Year-Long Points Race
Top 15 finishers "make the cut" and earn points each week. (For example, on a single point week, 1st place receives 15 points, and 15th place receives 1 point.)
Any ties will split the points available.
11. Substitutes Rule
A substitute player must be an amateur golfer at least 18 years old, male, and abide by all league rules. Securing a sub is the responsibility of the absent league member or his partner. Any player who is not a league member is considered a substitute. Substitutes will play as a “scratch” player until they have recorded enough rounds to establish a league handicap or they may provide an official USGA Handicap.
Only substitutes who have registered for the league may compete for weekly proxies and within individual leagues. All other substitutes' scores will only count toward their team's score.
12. League Play-Offs
Winners of each division will meet for a 9-hole match.
There will be matches for all three "leagues within the league" (team, individual gross, and individual net).
Trophies and an extra shop credit will be awarded only to those who earn the title of TNMBML Champions.
Greens fees for these matches have been covered.
The matches will be handicapped stoke-play (except for individual gross) with extra sudden death holes if needed.
